Enhancing one of the UK's flagship designer outlets

In 2016, plans for a significant expansion to Ashford Designer Outlet in Kent, UK, were given the green light by Ashford Borough Council. This is Ashford Designer Outlet's first extension since the centre opened in 2000. Links to Ashford town centre are being improved to facilitate the whole scheme.

Improved retail and leisure offer

This extension to the existing designer outlet adds 50 retail, leisure and F&B units to the 80 already operating, as well as a new events space and a children’s play area. An additional 9,300m² GBA of commercial space is being added to the existing 17,200m². The extension is expected to add a further 500 employees to the current 1,000.

A stunning 'living green wall' cladding system

Reflecting Kent’s status as the 'Garden of England’, a living green wall of tens of thousands of vertically-stacked plants clads the centre – the longest living wall in Europe - greeting affluent long-haul tourists from Europe and beyond, as well as day-out shoppers.

The new extension is designed by Chapman Taylor, along with Applied Landscape Design.
